Is UnifiedAid affiliated with the government?+
No. We are an independent platform that helps you discover and apply for programs administered by state & federal agencies. We always link you to the official source.
Is my information safe?+
Yes. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We never sell your information. Premium members get a secure document vault.
Can I use it for free?+
Yes — browsing programs and the eligibility checker are free forever. Premium unlocks AI form-fill, voice, recert reminders, and document vault.
How does the AI form-fill work?+
You tell us your situation once — by voice or text. Claude Sonnet 4.5 extracts all the right fields. You review and submit. Takes minutes, not hours.
I don't have a Social Security Number — can I still use UnifiedAid?+
Yes. Many programs (WIC, emergency Medicaid, school meals, food banks) don't require a Social Security Number. Our eligibility checker will surface the programs you qualify for regardless of SSN status. Always verify directly with the agency before applying.
What if I get denied for a program?+
Most denials can be appealed within 30–90 days, depending on the program. Save your denial letter, look for the 'Right to a Fair Hearing' or 'Notice of Appeal Rights' section, and file before the deadline. About 40–50% of appeals succeed when applicants provide updated documentation. Reach out to legal aid if you need help.
How often is the program information updated?+
We re-verify program eligibility, benefit amounts, and application URLs against the official source weekly using our automated freshness checker. If we detect a meaningful change, the program page updates automatically. Final eligibility is always determined by the agency.
Can I apply for benefits in multiple states?+
Federal programs (SNAP, Medicaid, etc.) are tied to your state of residence — you can only receive benefits from the state where you actually live. If you're moving between states, transfer your benefits using the state's official portal. Our state-specific landing pages show you the exact agency for each state.
How do I cancel my Premium subscription?+
Go to your dashboard → Billing → Manage subscription. You'll be redirected to Stripe's customer portal where you can cancel with one click. Your Premium features stay active until the end of the current billing period — no proration penalty. We never use dark patterns to keep you locked in.
Will my immigration status be reported to ICE?+
No. We are an independent platform — not a government agency. We never share your data with immigration authorities. Federal benefit programs like SNAP, WIC, Medicaid for kids and pregnant women, and emergency Medicaid do not count under the public charge rule. If you have specific concerns, please consult an immigration attorney.
Can I help a family member apply through my account?+
Yes. Many of our users help parents, grandparents, or adult children navigate benefits. Run the eligibility checker with their information, save the matched programs to your dashboard, and use AI form-fill to draft applications for them. They'll need to review and submit themselves (or sign as authorized representative if applicable).
Is the information on UnifiedAid legal advice?+
No. UnifiedAid is a benefits-discovery and application-help platform — not a law firm. The information we provide is general guidance based on official agency sources. For complex cases (denials, immigration concerns, disability appeals, child custody affecting eligibility), please consult a licensed attorney or your local Legal Aid office.
